Sculptors come from all over the USA and for a week we make art, such fun, then invest the waxes, burn out and pour the iron. I make ewers! If you check the web site of Mesalands Community College towards the end of next week we will be pouring on the 13th of March. They usually have a live feed of it all week showing yard activity.

Yes, molten iron poured into molds. Wonderful stuff! I'm so gimped they don't let me pour any more but I get to make waxes, invest them and watch, orange hot molten iron being poured and then bring home my ewers.

OH No! Here we go again with the price of silver and gold! I bet by the time I get back from the iron pour next month and can buy more silver in April I won't be able to. Woe is me!

Bentiron, I live just 50 miles east of Grand Junction. The weather is not too bad. This winter has been a record one for cold and snow. An article today in the paper says the city golf courses will not open until next week. They are usually closed for only a few weeks in January. Usual winter daytime highs in the upper 40's. Summer highs of near 100. Low humidity so it does cool down at night.

We have had rain now for three days, Hallelujah! Downside, weeds, rodents galore and more varmints, also chance of big summer fires! I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

Yes, she has applied for a job in Grand Junction. Doesn't sound like the most wonderful spot climate wise but who knows for sure. I hate cold.
