I stumbled on this fabulous step by step tutorial the other day and thought it would be great to share the link for the Advent Calendar.

This has no expiration date unless the artist – the lovely Catherine Chandler – should move or delete the files.

  1. Is it just me? I can’t find a link to the tutorial. It sounds interesting.

  2. Now I found it. It wasn’t highlighted. I just clicked on everything I could.
    Thanks

  3. Great tutorial, but where can someone buy good cuttlebone? All I see around here is small stuff. Also, I noticed that there were no vents, are these not necessary?

  4. Thank you for sharing – I forgot what great texture the cuttlefish have – would be fabulous to make some moulds from as well.

  5. I get my cuttlefish from the pet store. Some places sell it in bulk. It is much cheaper than jewelry supply!I think you don`t need vents because the cuttlefish is so porous. And it is an amazing texture!

  6. I always put vents in my cuttlebone, but that is just me. I also get my cuttlebone from Petco. You can pick and choose which ones, and it was more economical.
