Meet the Teachers

 Deborah Mauser

I have been exploring all mediums of metalsmithing for the past 8 years with an emphasis on wireworking.

My muse will take me from bold colors and designs to simple and chic. The one common theme throughout my jewelry is texture.

I have benefited from classes with great teachers and gained knowledge from many friends in the industry. I began teaching in 2009 at Bead and Wire Fest and writing tutorials to give back to our industry.

I began creating jewelry on a whim somewhere around 2003. After learning a little about wirework from a box kit, I beGan scouring the internet for more information. I stumbled upon many wonderful artists who took the time to share with me, mentoring me in my journey.

After a year I began adding in some sheet metal, working with cold connections until I learned to solder in April 2006. That is when my passion turned to obsession!

I am happy to be able to give back to the jewelry making community with this website, the forum, and the jewlery making tutorials.

  1. Dear Ms. Mauser,

I’ve been searching for wire wrapping bracelet cuffs and ring tutorials (ex:Tana Acton technique/style) and that’s when I noticed your work in the Collector’s Edition Beadwork Magazine …I fell in love with the piece in the photo. Do you have any of your tutorials available for purchase? I live in Dallas, TX and am not able to attend the Bead Fest this August in Philadelphia where you are offering your classes.

    Thank you for your input.

    Kindest regards,

    Lori

    • Lori,
Thanks for the kind words. I do have a few tutorials available here on Jewelry Artist Network, and just found out that I will be teaching in DALLAS! Right in your back yard. I will have 5 different classes including Wild Woman Bangle (so much fun), Abacus Ring, Treasure Chest (10 wire wrapped components) Double the Fun which are two weaves on one stone and Over Under Bracelet which is a cool weave.
Classes go live May 20th, so check out http://www.beadfest.com

I hope that you will find some classes that you like. I am also working on some tutorials to put online.

  2. Lori – Deborah will be teaching in Dallas in the not too distant future. I am sure she will comment here with details soon!

  3. I have had the pleasure of being one of Deborah’s students, she’s a great teacher! We all knew it would happen, we can say we “knew her when”….

  4. Janice, I saw your jewelry in your gallery and it is absolutely beautiful. I wish you were in Michigan so I could take some classes from you. Paula
